ACUMent Across CU Mentoring Center Greetings Chairs and Academic Leaders: Please know how much we value your experience as mentors and leaders, and how you might consider participating in mentoring beyond your department. Are you interested in sharing your knowledge, empowering others, and making a difference? If so, sign up for ACUMent!  ACUMent Across CU Mentoring pairs more senior faculty as mentors with mentees outside of their departments to complement discipline-specific mentoring. Please share this announcement with your colleagues for the opportunity to mentor and be mentored beyond the walls of the department. Faculty at all career stages can apply as either mentors or mentees in this program. Mentor Matches consist of 1 mentor with 1-2 mentees outside their unit/department.  Apply here to be a mentor for the 2023-24 cohort, and send this link to other faculty you think might be a good mentor. Please share this link with faculty to sign up to be a mentee.  Applications are due on April 12. Questions? Contact Faculty Director Harsha Ganga

Good leaders make their people feel safe |
|
Back in the Paleolithic era, 50,000 years ago, dangers and uncertainty were everywhere. Â A feeling of safety was required to build trust and cooperation. Â Check out this Simon Sinek TED talk on how this same desire for safety remains, even without the sabretooth tigers, and why good leaders help their people feel safe.Â
