Humans are emotional creatures. Oftentimes we make decisions based on our emotions that we try to rationalize later. For years, I watched smart people make not-so-smart financial decisions. I’m guilty of this myself.
It’s one thing to know when you should invest, or when you should raise your rates; it’s another thing to understand what’s holding you back from actually doing it. Understanding our own emotions gives us a way to widen the lens of perspective. It’s another piece of data that we can use to better understand ourselves.
