Travel back in time with us to learn the 180 year old photographic process of cyanotype! We’ll be using recipes from the 1840s that remain largely unchanged to make highly-detailed, archival, contact-prints. By the end of the workshop, you will have the skills and confidence necessary to recreate the process in the comfort of your home without the use of a darkroom or harsh chemicals.
Cyanotype is both cost effective and forgiving as a process. It is a wonderfully accessible printing method and this workshop will walk you through this low-cost technique. From the bare bones to an advanced setup, we will go over what you need and how to get it on any budget.
This workshop is open to all ages, but children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Technical expertise or prior experience with printing is not required. At the end of the workshop each participant will take home a completed print, and a kit of materials necessary to make more prints at home.
