Virtual Workshop on Single-Cell RNA Sequencing Data Analysis and Applications, April 4, via Zoom |
The AR INBRE Bioinformatics Core will be offering this workshop which will provide an overview of the fundamentals of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data and its applications. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is a technology used to analyze the transcriptome of individual cells, allowing researchers to study the gene expression patterns within a cell population, identify rare cell types, and understand cell heterogeneity at a very detailed level, particularly within complex tissues like tumors or developing embryos; essentially revealing the unique transcriptional profile of each cell within a sample.
Participants will engage in hands-on exercises using the Seurat R package.
Prerequisites: Knowledge of R programming will be beneficial for the hands-on exercises.

Proteomics Vouchers The IDeA National Resource for Quantitative Proteomics supports a nationwide competitive voucher program that provides fully subsidized access at no cost to the user. The goal of the program is to provide pilot scale data to investigators that will create new hypotheses, drive publications, and support on-going research studies within the mission of NIGMS.
Award: $2,000 voucher for 10-plex TMT or 20 sample DIA. Vouchers accepted 3x/year. Next due on Oct 15. More |

Proteomics Workshop The IDeA National Resource for Quantitative Proteomics will host a one-day workshop for Arkansas investigators. The Fundamentals of Proteomics Workshop, held March 20, UAMS in Little Rock, is designed for research faculty and students to provide: Overview of quantitative proteomics workflows; How to design a proteomics experiment; Avoiding sample preparation pitfalls; and Leveraging proteomics data for publications and grant submissions.

IDeA Co-Funding NIGMS provides co-funding to support research project grant applications from investigators in IDeA states whose proposals received meritorious scores through the peer review process but fall short of the Institute’s or Center’s payline. R01, R15 and MIRA R35 applications (new or continuations) assigned to any NIH IC are eligible.
The IDeA program anticipates providing up to $350,000 in total costs for each of the first two years of a selected co-funding application. Nomination close early April. More |

American Chemical Society Priscilla Carney Jones Scholarship provides scholarships for female undergrad majors in chemistry or related disciplines who are beginning their junior or senior years of study. Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program supports the research and teaching careers of talented early-career faculty in the chemical sciences at PUIs. Award, which requires an institutional nomination, is based on accomplishment in scholarly research with undergrads, as well as a commitment to teaching, and provides an unrestricted research grant of $75,000. Institutions may submit only one Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award nomination annually. Deadline: Aug 7. More |
