I know, I know. I mention "health update" in the contents section like this is something I've spoken about before and for that,I apologize. Let me bring you up to speed.

I've been experiencing hand and arm numbness and tingling for months. Heck, it's probably been over a year, now that I think about it. When I first brought it up to my doctor, it was manageable, and didn't bother me too often. We decided I would wear a wrist brace at night and leave it at that.

It worked a treat until it didn't. Over the last few months, the numbness has become increasingly painful. I thought it was from anxiety and sleeping on the couch. (I usually sleep where I can keep an eye on Rocky in case he has a seizure. My anxiety won't let me sleep if he's not in my line of sight. It's a problem.) When it started to interfere with day-to-day tasks, I took myself back to the doctor.

Right away he sent me for an X-ray, where it was discovered that I have next to no curve and some disc degeneration in some of the vertabrae in my neck. So cool, right? What does it mean? Well, the doctor thinks I'm suffering from arthritis in my neck, and carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrist, but he's sending me for an MRI and a nerve study to see what we're dealing with.

What does this mean? Well, so far, not much. I can still type without too many issues, but I can only write a few words with a pen before my hand feels like it's cramping. It's made plotting new books difficult because I like to use a post-it and bulletin board method. It has given me the opportunity to try out the Freeform app on my Mac, which is pretty cool. It's not the same as Post-Its, though. I also haven't been able to colour my hair in ages, since I can't hold my hands over my head for that long. That's probably not the worst thing, though, since the last time I did it, I had a reaction to the bleach. It's possible my hair colouring days are behind, but that's okay, because I have a nifty white streak coming in just right of the center of my forehead :D
