Dorset for Europe is about the EU and Brexit – yet we cannot avoid being buffeted by news about re-elected President Trump and the new global agenda. You might even see Brexit as a subset of the same populism that swept Trump to power, the same dark force that's now stalking European democracies on behalf of plutocrats. Local news The European Movement called for a day of action to promote their new Erasmus+ campaign. We took posters and leaflets to our regular monthly Eurocafe meeting at the Angel, Longham on Feb 1st, only to find that most of us were out of date about how much Erasmus has expanded (the 'plus' really is a whole lot more than just student exchanges!). Many thanks to Phil Lucas for bringing us up to date: check out the Erasmus website for more information.
It is time for our AGM: it will take place on Zoom at 19.30, March 14, 2025. Reply to this email if you would like to join us , just to listen in, or if you have ideas to share. Or if you would like to join the Steering Group - we would welcome new recruits.

National Rejoin March has set changed the date for their annual 'day of action' to May 10, 2025, which is the day after Europe Day. We are planning to have a picnic in Fordingbridge, jointly with Salisbury for Europe. Further details next month.
Further ahead The National Rejoin March team have confirmed there will be a fourth annual march in the autumn (date to be confirmed), with a new route in London. Chec k out their website for their many new developments and plans, including their new podcast, 'Rants'.
