THE HIGH-LEVEL VEHICLE ASSESSMENT LEAVES WA

Chris, Luke & Troy have had a busy start to 2021 hosting Total Ability’s High-Level Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle in WA! This vehicle has been critical in helping many West Australian licence holders to achieve their 2021 goal of returning to or commencing driving.
HIGH-LEVEL ASSESSMENT VEHICLE
HLV - RUBY
While here, the vehicle has been demo’d at the Solutions Centre, Interest Groups & Expos showcasing the latest technology including drive-by-wheelchair, mini-wheel, electronic brake/ acceleration systems and voice control options, among other solutions. In between the ‘real work’ and whilst the van has been situated at the Solutions Centre many lucky West Australian’s have also been provided with hands-on experience of the newest driving options available.

If you’ve missed the opportunity to see the van while it was in WA or
@Solutions Centre there is GOOD NEWS: we are expecting that the van will return to WA later in the year!
OLD vs NEW, WHICH ONE DO YOU PREFER?

In April, we asked visitors to the @Solutions Centre and our social media followers which style shower chair they preferred - the traditional white or the new faux timber and here is the result..

After a robust internal debate.. what were the results?
WHITE SHOWER CHAIR - 33%
57% of visitors preferred the faux timber

75% of Facebook pollers preferred traditional

53% of Instagramers preferred faux timber
FAUX TIMBER SHOWER CHAIR - 67%
So … with a total of 73 votes received, we had a 67% preference for the faux timber!!

Which one do you prefer? We just like that with the changes to individualised funding under NDIS, people now have a choice in which design they choose!

The faux timber shower chair pictured is a Max Mobility product & available in WA from Emprise Mobility. This natural-looking faux timber seat is available in different configurations, weighs approximately 4.3 kg with a user weight capacity of 120 kg. We have this and many other styles of bathroom seating on display @Solutions Centre.
PROVIDER SPOTLIGHT

This month we took a moment to sit down with Troy & Brooke Rowe of Freedom Motors WA to ask a few questions..

Troy, can you tell us how did you get to where you are today? I started as an apprentice motor body builder and the bosses daughter had CP so I was asked to help modify a van for her. Friends of theirs then wanted one done the same, and seeing the difference that the van made to these families made me want to continue with modifying vehicles.
Brooke addsHe's so passionate about the work he does, it's hard to not get swept up by it!
BROOKE & TROY
What is your proudest moment? Bringing two amazing children into the world!
Troy, what are the best jobs of your day? It would have to be seeing someone drive away in their new car that we have just completed!
And Brooke , what bits of your day do you not enjoy? Having to tell clients they have to wait for their modifications.. I just want to book everyone in NOW!
How do you both enjoy your weekend? Long walks! We love a 15-20km walk around the Swan River as well as caravanning down south with the kids.
Lastly, what's your favourite type of biscuits? Tim Tam (Brooke) & Anzac cookies (Troy).. we know who the chocolate addict is in their household!
