It’s been a busy month at the pub and things are really moving along thanks to an incredible team of volunteers! Here's a quick round up:
The wonderful Window Warriors have braved the cold for several days to renovate the upstairs windows and have now moved downstairs to tackle the ones in the bar area. Adrian will join them later this month to take on the specialist work having already replaced the locks on the back doors - a big thank you to you all!
Our volunteer electrician, Tim is starting to make sense of the pub’s electrical system - not an easy thing to do - and we are grateful to Roland for answering our call for plumbing support!
The Garden Team have cleared the car park and already transformed the overgrown garden. As you can see from the photos below, flower beds are taking shape, and it’s wonderful to see the pétanque court back in play. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this effort.
Roy has kindly volunteered to help us with lime plaster repairs, which will start shortly - then painting and decorating will follow - watch this space!
Meanwhile, our Interior Design Team have been buzzing with ideas. Steve kindly brought in a 3D laser scanner to create precise plans and models of the pub’s interior, so we will soon be able to share some exciting images of our planned designs with you.
Behind the scenes, our premises licence has been approved, and we have submitted an application for funding for improvements that will help reduce carbon emissions and create a more sustainable business.
We’ve welcomed new committee members: Alistair (renovation), Jon (HR), Apple (interior design), Sophie (secretary), and Becky (deputy secretary), but we’re very sad to see Eric step back from the committee. His efforts were key to our campaign, and we deeply appreciate everything he’s done—we hope to see him involved again soon.
