Poulsbo Son's of Norway 2-44 - President's Message
Hej all,
I just returned from playing golf with our fellow District 2 lodges in Leavenworth at the annual golf tournament scramble. I really had a good time playing for the first time in this tournament. I met a few new people from other lodges as well as a renewed hello to those I’ve known for a while. It reminded me of the whole Sons of Norway world out there outside of our lodge. The heritage camp for adults is coming up, the skiing in February, Steak Fry in July, among other activities at lodges that we are invited to as part of a fraternal body to fellowship with each other in this network of people committed to celebrating Norwegian heritage and culture. I hope you can consider participating in some of this as advertised in social media and this Maaken newsletter throughout the year.
Looking forward to starting up some things for the fall. The Leikarringen kids and teachers will get back to practicing dance and the choir will start practicing songs again. The social events continue with Friday dinners, trivia on Thursdays, and other special events like watching Seahawks games on our big TV and the potlucks.  You may have noticed that food is a special event all its own so if you have a meal idea that you would like to share with the lodge, please let us know so we can help you organize a crew and put it on the calendar.
We gain significant income by renting out our lodge rooms for events throughout the year. We need hosts from the lodge mostly on weekends to facilitate the space and answer questions for our guests. Thank you to Curtis and Bill and Beth and Larry for helping recently. And thanks to Deb and May for cleaning up between events and for Alex and his crew setting up tables and chairs. If you can help host, do clean up, tear down and set up of tables and chairs please reach out to PoulsboSonsEvents@gmail.com and Alisha will give you the upcoming dates and times that need volunteers! You would be contributing to the success of the lodge!
Take a look at our upcoming events to see what appeals to you to be a part. And I’ll see you down at the lodge!
