You can watch the hearing for the bill here - LINK at 5:23 on the clock. Watching the hearing may inspire you to refute a statement or provide you with ideas for a call or email.
Thank you to everyone who took action last time by signing in remotely. We had 307 supporters for the bill and only 16 opposed, which is a fantastic outcome.
NH 387, the balloon bill will be decided on March 7. As you know it is in the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee.
Executive Session: 03/07/2025 10:00 am LOB 202-204
The hearing for this bill was brief, with only the sponsor testifying. She was excellent, and we are optimistic that the committee will give it an Ought to Pass but it never hurts to reach out again to anyone on the committee.
The bill to ban wildlife killing contests and wanton waste, HB 589, did not fare well in the Fish and Game and Marine Resources Committee executive session with an 11-3 vote deeming it Inexpedient to Legislate. The NH Animal Rights League emailed an alert about the executive session. If you voted remotely, be sure to check it out to see the results of the remote voting. LINK to Alert You may want to take some actions in the alert so please check it out.
Next, this bill will go to the full House for a vote, so now is the time to let your representatives know that you want them to support it. Perhaps the Inexpedient to Legislate recommendation can be overturned with a full House vote. After watching the executive session that you will see at the NH Animal Rights League link above, it’s clear that our voices were not taken into consideration. Let’s push to pass this bill in the House and see if the Senate will give it fairer consideration.

UPCOMING BILL IN THE SENATE
SB 235 is a good bill for us to support. It will allow for the Nongame and Endangered Species Program of the NH Fish and Game to receive Pittman-Robertson funding. Fish and Game is supportive of this bill, which will help it pass.
This bill will be heard in the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Go to this LINK and to email the Committee asking them to Support SB 235 but first do the remote sign in. It will be heard in this committee on March 4 at 9:40 am in the State House, Room 103. Thanks!
