The Good Morning service provides reassurance to people within the community through free confidential daily telephone calls and support.
It provides users with access to other local community and statutory services and activities, and helps reduce
loneliness,
isolation,
ill health
and the fear of crime.
Locally, GML provides the telephone befriending support service for older people in Larne and surrounding areas, which currently delivers 14,000 telephone calls each year to many lonely and isolated seniors.
Our service is delivered by a team of volunteers who work on developing friendships on the telephone with our clients,
to offer them a sense of safety and connection with the community,
to feel confident and empowered as we help them stay independent at home,
and to improve their overall wellbeing, as they feel cared for and listened to within the community.
If you have 3 hours any weekday morning and would like to volunteer for this service get in touch with Ben.
