Nomination Papers Available

Nomination papers for the following positions are now available:

Select Board (3-year term)
School Board (3-year term)
Road Commissioner (2-year term)

Municipal elections will be on Saturday, June 14, and the Annual Town Meeting will be on Monday, June 16. Contact Amy Eldridge at 338-3819 x2 with any questions.

Town Office Project Update

The Town now has construction drawings for the Town Office / Community Center project. Updated site plans, floor plans, and exterior elevations are available on the website and an 11"x17" paper copy is available at the Town Office. Please contact James Kossuth at administrator@northportmaine.org or 338-3819x6 with any questions.

There will be an informational session about the project at the Drinkwater School (56 Bayside Road) on Wednesday, April 30, at 6pm. There will be an article on the Town Meeting warrant in June to authorize the Town to borrow the funds necessary to complete the project. The Town is still in the running for $2.35 million from the federal government, but that depends on Congress passing a budget. The Town has applied for a grant for another $1 million and is also organizing a fundraising effort to try to reduce the amount of additional taxes that the Town will have to raise. Town Report Cover Photos

The Town is seeking photos from Northport that would be suitable for the front and back cover of this year’s Annual Town Report. Please send your photos, and any questions, to Amy Eldridge at townclerk@northportmaine.org.

Upcoming Meetings

The Select Board meets on the second and fourth Monday at 6:15pm at the Town Office. Agendas and minutes are available on the website. The Select Board is also holding a budget workshop on Monday, March 17, at 6:15pm at the Town Office. If you have anything you would like to add to the agenda, please contact James Kossuth at administrator@northportmaine.org or 338-3819x6 by the Wednesday before the meeting.

Drinkwater School Fundraiser
