EVENTS & news with Matt Finch - Edition 36 |
Hello all I had a wonderful time in Aix En Provence with Horizons Choir, singing in 2 international concerts. The weather was fabulous, as were the acoustics. Check out our concert here
Tickets for Horizons and Jane Lilley Singers "Come and Sing Hymns with Anthems" on the 18th May (the day after Party in the City) are available on line AND on the door (cash or card) - all the Hymns and Anthems have been chosen - so warm up your voices and join us in raising the roof singing some of those classic hymns you know and love. The choirs are putting the last minute touches to beautiful anthems by Mozart, Victoria, Ireland and of course.... there's a Finch piece too!
Horizons are going to be busy over the next few months with singing in Party in the City, The Hymns & Anthems Concert, a triple joint concert in the Wiltshire Music Centre, a recording of my choral pieces at prior Park Chapel, and then an end of term drinks bash at the Packhorse pub in Southstoke with a number of other choirs. So do join us to hear some fabulous music!Cheers

HORIZONS CHOIR OF BATH AT 'PARTY IN THE CITY'

COME AND SING HYMNS WITH ANTHEMS SUNG BY
HORIZONS & THE JANE LILLEY SINGERSSaturday 18th May 2:30pmSt.Mary's BathwickCome and sing some congregational favourites, interspersed with some fabulous choral anthems. The hymns will be accompanied by Bath Abbey's assistant organist Gary Desmond on the newly refurbished organ at St Mary's Bathwick.

Horizons Choir and the Jane Lilley Singers will lead from the front, bolstering the harmonies and soaring over the top with descants. After singing a couple of congregational blockbusters the choirs will perform an anthem, exploiting the wonderful resonant acoustics of this gorgeous building, while the congregation regain their breath before singing another classic hymn!

TRIPLE CHOIR SHOWCASE WITH HORIZONS
Wednesday 10th July 6:30pm
Wiltshire Music Centre
Horizons choir will be teaming up with Bath Community Gospel Choir and the PSG choirs for this midweek concert in the wonderful Wiltshire Music Centre. Horizons have not performed there before so this is another concert venue to tick off our list. The choirs are all very contrasting - which is what I love about choirs! You will be in for a mid week treat - tickets available soon

CHOIRS IN THE PUB GARDEN
Saturday 21st July from 7:30pm
The Packhorse, Southstoke
Horizons Choir, The Notebales, The Bellini Girls, The Combe Down Community Choir and more will be performing short sets outside in the garden of The Packhorse Pub in Southstoke. Its a fabulous pub, with great food, beer and a wonderful summer garden. A free evening, raising some money for a local charity through a bucket collection. The sun will shine, the choirs will smile, the beer and cider will flow - what a great way to end the summer term. If you belong to a choir that you think would like to join in - do let me know!!!
