A slightly belated happy Independence Day to all our U.S. fans and a slightly more-belated Canada Day to all our fans north of the border! In addition, thanks to all of you who wished me a happy birthday Wednesday.
My lovely wife, Lisa, and I celebrated by shopping at Half Price books and then going to dinner at LongHorn Steakhouse. Our two oldest daughters volunteered to entertain their younger siblings for the evening.
The following afternoon, I spent an enjoyable three-hour lunch with ApologetiX alum drummer Fred Behanna at Red Robin. We’d been trying to get together for quite a while; the previous time was in January 2024. |

Fred was an active ApX member (in concert and in studio) from early 1999 through early 2001. You can hear his fine work on our Biblical Graffiti and Spoofernatural CDs. He has more grandchildren than anybody else in the band, past or present. It’ll take me an a whole paragraph to elaborate:
Fred’s daughter Brandy and her husband, Jon, have four children, Will, Claire, Grace, and Jack. Grace recently got married. Her husband’s name is Anthony. Fred’s son, Mark, and his wife, Raequel, have six children combined. Mark’s three are Emily, Kyle, and Summer. Raequel’s three are Halley, Jacob, and Avery.
ApX bassist Keith Haynie was originally supposed to join Fred and me but couldn't come this time. Keith’s birthday is later this month on July 16. Two other ApX band guys celebrate birthdays before and after him: guitarist Tom Milnes (July 10) and alum keyboardist Bill Hubauer (July 18).
Who needs "Christmas in July" when we have so many band birthdays? Shhh … don’t tell Keith I said that! He loves Christmas in July. And January through June. And August through December. |

Clues for 2025 Single #12 |
We hope to release our 12th single of 2025 by the end of this weekend, Lord willing.
Here are your clues. Want to really impress us? See if you can spot all of the references in both entries. We counted a total of 20.
SONG #1
Despite the global focus on emission control, many folks don’t realize we can pollute ourselves by things we say (Matthew 15:18). They’ve gone shootin' off their mouths, oblivious to the danger (Matthew 5:22, 12:36). Rather than speaking harshly, It’s better to keep a stiff upper lip and let somebody walk all over you, even if they drew first blood.
SONG #2
Stand up for the truth, and you’ll stir up trouble for yourself; that’s the way of the world. We’ve been here before: Jesus was no stranger to controversy, even without network news on the air to feed the fire. In return for His honesty, He was framed, given a crown of thorns, and nailed to a cross. No compromise, no way out, but no regrets, either.

We recently got a new batch of ApologetiX USB thumb drives.
They include our latest CD, Quite Ironic, and our latest single “Heaven’s Metal / I Just Want to Take After You.” In fact, they contain the digital versions of all of our CDs, plus any singles, EPs, or rarities that aren’t on CD yet.
Emblazoned with the band's logo, our USBs have a storage capacity of 16 GB, and they’re write-enabled, so you can add more music to them if and when you get future ApX downloads.

ApX at Immortal Fest (Live and Livestream): 8 Weeks Away |
ApologetiX has been asked to return for the fourth annual Immortal Fest Part II, which will once again take place on Labor Day Weekend (Immortal Fest Part I takes place in late July).
This time around, we’ll be playing on Saturday night, August 30, at 8:15 p.m. We’re currently planning to do a bunch of songs we’ve never attempted live before.
The event is also available as pay-per-view live-streaming. You can get tickets for either on the event’s website. Tickets are available for each individual day or for the entire weekend.
