Upcoming City Council Elections |
|
The 2024 election for Mayor and City Council districts 2, 4, 6, 7, and 10 will take place Tuesday, November 7, 2024.
Each election year, FAN assembles resources to help neighbors understand where candidates stand on their vision for our neighborhoods and the city.
Check out our city council candidate contact sheet, which provides comprehensive information on connecting with the candidates via email, phone, social media, and their websites.
If you're on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, follow our list of candidate accounts to see what the candidates are posting.
Also check out a series of "Building an Abundant Austin" city council candidate forums, which FAN is co-hosting with AURA, Rethink35, Safe Streets Austin, Farm&City, Movability, Sunrise Austin, Center for New Liberalism, and Environment Texas. See below for info on the first forum, which will feature candidates for district 10.
Stay tuned as we provide more opportunities for you to learn about the candidates, including answers to our city council candidate questionnaire and more candidate forums. FANs will also have an opportunity to express their candidate preferences in a poll of the membership. |

The first "Building an Abundant Austin" city council candidate forum will take place in district 10. Austin Monitor's Chad Swiatecki will moderate the forum. You may get to the event using the route 30 bus (plan your trip on Capital Metro here). For those choosing to drive, parking is available in the rear via the Steck Ave. entrance.

Celebrate Austin Urbanism with Chris Riley |
For over two decades, Chris Riley has championed abundant and diverse housing options, healthy and sustainable transportation choices, and climate-friendly land use policies throughout Austin's neighborhoods.
This coming Wednesday, FAN and partner organizations join Chris in celebrating his accomplishments and recent wins among advocates for neighborhood inclusion.
Everyone is welcome!

We have a lot of wins to celebrate, but also a lot more progress to make on dismantling protectionist policies that make our neighborhoods less inclusive and our city less sustainable. Chris will share his thoughts on the past and present, and his vision for the future. |
From time to time, FAN's membership votes on resolutions and urges policymakers to enact policy changes that will improve our neighborhoods and enrich our lives.
Have a policy idea or an observation to share about current policies affecting our neighborhoods? Start a conversation on the FAN forum! Work with other FAN members and neighbors throughout the city to propose a resolution that FANs can vote on and, if it passes, present to policymakers. |
