Annual Town Meeting and Elections

Municipal elections for Select Board, School Board, and Road Commissioner will be on Saturday, June 14, at the Town Office from 8am to 4pm.

The positions and candidates are:

Select Board (3-year term): Jeanine Tucker

School Board (3-year term): Celine Bewsher; Debora Riley

Road Commissioner (2-year term): Amon Morse III

The annual town meeting will be on Monday, June 16, at 6:30pm at the Drinkwater School (56 Bayside Road). The Annual Report and warrant is now available at the Town Office and on the website. Please contact Amy Eldridge, Town Clerk, at townclerk@northportmaine.org or 338-3819x3 with any questions.

Several warrant articles involve the new Town Office and Community Center project. This is your chance to have your voice heard on this project, which will affect the Town for years to come. Please come and vote!

Town Office and Transfer Station Closure

The Town Office and Transfer Station will be CLOSED on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, a federal and state holiday.

GWI Community Celebration

GWI and Maine Connectivity Authority invite you to a community celebration and ribbon-cutting in honor of the completion of the fiber build in Northport! Come celebrate this achievement at Ruggles Park on Wednesday, June 25, from 11am-1pm. (In case of rain, the event will move to Community Hall (813 Shore Road).)

Transfer Station Fee Increase

Effective July 1, the price of dump stickers will go up to $4 to cover increased costs in the Town's new contract for hauling household trash. PLEASE DO NOT "STOCK UP" ON DUMP STICKERS BETWEEN NOW AND JULY 1. On July 1, all bagged trash will be $4, and you will have to either trade in your blue stickers at the Town Office for the new yellow stickers at $1 each, or pay the difference with a check at the Transfer Station.
