Did you know?
Sourdough bread has its own month (September) and it's own Day (April 1st)!

It's amazing what you learn when you open a sourdough bakery. There's a whole sourdough universe out there, just waiting to be explored. There actually is  a National Sourdough Bread Day. And although it's this Saturday, I see no reason why we can't celebrate the occasion the entire weekend, starting on Friday!

One website suggested having some kind of sourdough for each meal of the day. I'm not going to go that far, but you could have an artisan sourdough cheese melt and a cup of soup for lunch on Friday, a sourdough bread bowl filled with seafood chowdah for dinner on Saturday, and French Toast for brunch Sunday morning. That would certainly be a fitting celebration for this recognition of one of life's greatest edible pleasures.

Speaking of French Toast, we've been running out of our Cinnamon Raisin Maple Pecan sourdough bread the last 2 weeks, so we made twice as much for this week, virtually guaranteeing you won't be left in the lurch! However, if you order on line before noon, we'll pull your loaf from the rack before we open to the public.

A dog named Bread?

Part of the sourdough universe are the dogs that belong to the customers we've met over the past 2 years. We ask the owners if their dog would like a sample of our sourdough and if they approve, we'll oblige. But imagine our surprise when we were told that one of the dogs is named Bread!

Springtime is here (sort of)...

When the rains paused, Cyndie wasted no time in getting our sidewalk sign all dressed up for spring. This is one of her early arrangements, which has evolved since this photo was taken last week. Come by the bakery to see the final floral masterpiece!
