Having been part of our Team since 2015, Elisabet flew over from Spain to try out some new electric boards and Sonnie's put together an awesome video of her experience!
Hi Elisabet can you introduce yourself?
Everyone knows me as Elisabet Govi. Govi is the fusion of my two last names. I was born in Sabadell, Barcelona. I first connected with Mountainboard in a totally random way and I was hooked. I started riding downhill in Catalonia just for fun, and the feeling of freedom and adrenaline grabbed me straight away.
Years later, I got invited to my first World Championship in Germany in the bordercross discipline. That’s where Trampa picked me up as part of their rider team back in 2015. Since then, I’ve been representing Trampa in international comps and traveling to epic spots to ride, like Moab Utah, the Rocky Mountains, Grand Junction… and so many circuits across different countries.
In 2018, at an international championship in the UK, I took first place in bordercross. After that, a knee injury I’d been carrying for months forced me to take almost a year off. And just when I was ready to come back, I had a medical accident that caused total paralysis in my limbs for a short period of time. After a long rehab to rebuild strength and mobility, I was ready to ride again. I grabbed a plane and went straight to the UK to try electric.
Right now, I’m at my best as a rider: smoother, learning faster, and enjoying every single ride. That’s who I am — just a girl who matched with Mountainboard one day, and it completely flipped my life upside down. Proud to be part of such an insane community as Mountainboard.
How was your time over at Trampa and what did you do?
From the very beginning, I looked up to the Trampa crew and dreamed of being part of it. Visiting their HQ is always something special — learning their story, seeing the whole process behind every design, and feeling the passion they put into their work. The team always made me feel at home, sharing laughs, stories, and a ton of learning moments as a rider.
Every visit takes me back to that original dream of mine: being part of this team. That dream didn’t just come true, it went way beyond anything I imagined. Since day one, Trampa has had my back — giving me support, loyalty, and the tools I need to keep growing as a rider.
How did you find Electric Compared to Mountainboards?
The first time I jumped on an Electric, all I could think about was Back to the Future. As a kid I freaked out over Marty McFly’s hoverboard, and suddenly I was like: “Damn, this feels just like flying!”. Instantly I thought: “God, I want this every fucking day of my life!”.
What I love most about the electric is how it pushes the limits of traditional mountainboarding — it mixes the old-school skills with modern tech. It opens up new terrain, new lines, new angles… and it gives you total freedom without losing the real essence of Mountainboard.
Do you have any advice for other Women in Mountainboarding or wanting to start out?
I’ve had insane experiences riding with women from all over the world, and each of them inspired me to keep pushing in this sport. One I’ll never forget was at a World Championship in Serbia with two riders from Latin America — the craziest, most fun, and riskiest race of my career.
Also in the US, I remember one session at Valmont Bike Park and another at a local Skatepark with some badass girl riders. I swear, those girls were flying. So sick!!
Whether you’ve been riding for a while or you’re just starting out, the key is to enjoy it. Feel that connection with the board, ride anywhere you can, and you’ll end up breaking your own limits. And when you break limits and dare to go further, you inspire others to do the same. That’s exactly what I wanted to show in the video I filmed riding the Electric. You don’t need insane tricks or dangerous moves — it’s about enjoying the ride, showing your style, your essence… and never forget the main ingredient: More Speed.
Tell me one funny thing which happened during your stay?
I’ve got more funny stories than hours in a day. Every ride was just full of laughs. Like that time blasting downhill, I took a wrong turn and suddenly realized I was heading straight for a lake and had to slam the brakes.
I loved every second with my Trampa friends — like that one afternoon riding in a meadow, learning a ton from them. But the funniest part of all? Riding the viaduct. Out in the middle of nowhere, just me, on this endless straight line. I swear it felt unreal, like holding a joystick and going full throttle inside a videogame.
