Now is a Great Time to Support Local Businesses
We love that our Find Waldo Local family scavenger hunt (see more below) occurs in our slow season, because the nearly month-long event is a boon to our beloved downtown. About half of the participating businesses are "Mom and Pop" retailers, and most of the rest are locally-owned eateries. For the next few months, while our local season is slower, we would ALL very much appreciate your patronage.
What's in it for you? You get more personalized attention and the warm and fuzzy feeling that you're doing good by spending your money right here in your community. And you get to see your favorite barista, bookseller, shop owner, sales associate, server, or bartender working -- thanks to you!
Live elsewhere in the summer? You can still support your winter community by purchasing from afar. Most of us have websites where you can purchase items or gift cards, or we can take care of you over the phone.
Other ways to support: follow, like, and share social media posts; write supportive online reviews; and tell your friends about your positive shopping and dining experiences.
Unique local businesses help make downtown Punta Gorda the quaint, interesting, connected community that draws so many! We truly wouldn't be here without you!

Find Waldo Local starts TODAY!
It's time to Find Waldo Local! Copperfish Books brings back a super-fun activity for KIDS and FAMILIES to do in downtown Punta Gorda this July — a Find Waldo Local scavenger hunt!
Miniature Waldos are hiding in 25 downtown Punta Gorda locations (see list here). Start at any one of them, pick up a stamp card, and go searching! When you spot Waldo, collect a store stamp or a signature on your stamp card. (Copperfish Books also has Waldo’s glasses to look for.) Prizes will be awarded and we'll have a Wrap Party and prize drawing at 3-4 pm on Saturday, July 29 at Copperfish Books!​
