Welcome to the October bulletin. Following on from a very busy September, we have even more lined up for you this month. Along with our entertainment events, there is plenty going on in the sporting calendar, featuring another international break with all the home nations in action, along with continued coverage of the Premier League and the next few rounds of the F1 Championship.

A word from our Chairman

Welcome to our October newsletter. Thankfully no bad news to report this month and we have a busy schedule ahead. Hopefully everyone that was at the Abba tribute band had a good time. We have a great local band playing later this month - England's Dreaming - so please come and support them. They have played here before and were very well received. Plus we have a quiz and bingo night and we hope to see as many of you participating as possible.

Finally, I would like to welcome Peter Boon, Alex Eastwell, Alan Carey and Steve Ellarby who all became members of the Club in September.

At the Club this month

Join us on Saturday 18th October for a night of punk, new wave and ska!

A real change of pace at The Broadway Club this October. England’s Dreaming are an outstanding punk, new wave and ska covers band performing the very best rock, punk and indie anthems of a generation. Come and join us for what promises to be a terrific evening of live music.

Entry fee for guests will be £3, payable on the door.

Gather together your Dream Team - it's quiz night at The Broadway.

Come on down to the Club on Saturday 4th October for our general knowledge quiz night. Teams should contain no more than six players and entries are charged at £2 per person, with cash prizes available for the top three teams.

If you would like to take part, simply add your name to the registration sheet on the noticeboard. However, we are also accepting entries on the night, so if you're unable to get to the Club until Saturday, you are still able to participate.

Join us on Saturday 25th October for another Broadway classic bingo night! Places are limited to 60 seats, so make sure you get down to the Club to reserve your seat on the noticeboard.

Food may be ordered for this event and will need to be paid for by Wednesday 22nd October. If you wish to play but don’t want food, you will be charged a refundable £5 deposit per person to secure your seats.

Meat raffle

Don't forget about our monthly meat raffle, which takes place on the last Friday of every month. There are ten individual prizes to be won, and the draw takes place this month on October 31st. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the bar. Good luck!

Club Competitions

The Monday night Blackwater & District winter darts league gets under way this month with both our darts teams in action. In division 2, the Broadway Band of Brothers get their campaign under way at the West Farnborough Social Club, and in division 3, the Broadway B52s host the Westies at the Club.

The Club snooker competition is nearing completion as we have reached the semi final stage in the singles and doubles. Semi final fixtures should be played by the end of this month.

We are continuing to seek players for our Cribbage team. If you are an experienced player, or are keen to learn, please add you name to the signup sheet on the Club noticeboard.

Other news

We now have new tenants at 113 Albert Street, who moved into the property on September 28th.

The bad weather during September highlighted an issue with the roof covering the entrance hall. We have received a quote for reparations, so please be aware that the main entrance to the Club may be temporarily closed depending on the progress of these repairs. In such an instance, the Club may be accessed through the French doors on the veranda.
