Meet Sydney — Age 19
Sydney — Volunteer Firefighter, FFPD
Sydney joined FFPD in October 2025 after completing the EMT program at Cabrillo College. At 19, she's working toward her National Registry EMT certification and brings a natural calm to high-pressure situations — something she credits to growing up across China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Central America. She also loves seeing young kids light up when they meet a female firefighter at school events.
Favorite food: Mom's fish tacos on corn tortillas
Favorite things: Camping, road trips, walking her dog, and the beach
Fun fact: Her family's Christmas Eve dinner is Thai food

This month, FFPD volunteers traveled to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District for hands-on engine driver training — time behind the wheel of a full-size apparatus alongside one of the region's premier departments.
Skilled apparatus operation is critical to safe, effective emergency response. FFPD is committed to ongoing professional development so that when you need us, we are ready.

FFPD was proud to be part of Felton Remembers this year — rolling through downtown in the parade and serving up ice cream at the festival. A big thank you to Scarborough Ace in Felton for donating the ice cream. Moments like this are a reminder of what this district is all about — showing up for the people of Felton, on calls and in the community.
