Customer Quote of the Week:

"This is not 'bread'... It's something different than I've ever had my whole life!" — Pam

NOTE: If this is your first Breadness Buzz, or if you've been part of our tribe but missed earlier posts, visit the Breadness Buzz Archive here and catch up on this content written especially for you (by me!). It's a great way to meet like-minded artisan sourdough aficionados and be part of this journey I started back in 2016. And now for this week's Buzz...

Local Salon Owner and Podcaster Features Breadness

Yegi walked into Random Acts of Breadness a few weeks back and introduced herself as having her own salon just down the street. She said she also does a podcast and asked if she could shoot some photos/videos at the bakery. She and her friend had a great time at Breadness and left with several of our breads and accoutrements. Well, before we could reconnect, Yegi had created and posted episode #75 of The Yegi Project podcast, and her featured topic was Random Acts of Breadness

What Yegi had to say about us and how she said it just blew me away! Plus you'll see the footage she took and edited into her story. Click/tap the image above to watch this podcast. It's under 12 minutes; our portion begins at the 3-minute mark, but I encourage you to watch from the beginning to get a sense of who Yegi is and what her purpose is for creating these podcasts.

Customer Kudos from yelp...

It's always a surprise to check on our yelp page and find out that there are new reviews to see and respond to. Here's one from last week by Holly J. that I just had to share with you. I respond to all reviews and you'll see that as well at the end of this section. Holly also took the photo of Alyssa and me!

A Happy and Healthy Halloween!

Halloween is always fun here at Random Acts of Breadness. With Geeky Teas & Games next door, we get to see folks dressed up in all kinds of amazing costumes (and gadgets!). If you come in costume to our bakery this weekend, with your permission, we'll take a photo of you in your Halloween finery (like the above couple from October 2022). Rhys, our lead artisan dough maker, suggested we have a contest for those so inclined. The photos will be shared with Rhys, Alex and Alyssa and I'll let them choose their favorites. The ones/couples chosen will win a loaf of Breadness or Laura Ann's Jam or Clif Family Honey or Beyond the Olive Tapenade

We'll also have a few Jack-o'-Lantern sourdough loaves on the rack. If you'd like one of these, be sure to ask when you come as we'll only have a few of these each day.

What about Trick or Treat?

I've been dismayed at the dearth of healthy treats at the supermarket (or even Trader Joe's) to give to trick-or-treaters on Halloween night. So I got the idea to give a small bag of our Artisan Sourdough Crisps (Cinnamon Raisin Maple Pecan) to this year's treaters. It's a great way to give something that's crispy, crunchy, tasty and actually healthy. By freezing the loaves after curing, then thawing, slicing and toasting them in our deck oven, the glycemic index (the rate carbohydrates convert to sugar in the body) drops 41%! Making the Crisps is already labor-intensive, but weighing and bagging 56 of these was definitely a labor of loaves. But I think it's worth it so that kids can have at least one item in their treat bag that's good for them. And maybe their parents will take notice and come visit us in the future. (Note: these small bags of Crisps are not available for sale in this form. Maybe next year if we get enough requests.)

What's on the Breadness Rack This Weekend...

We've got fresh-cured Artisan Sourdough Country Loaves and Cinnamon Raisin Maple Pecan sourdough loaves. And we've got a good stash of Sourdough Bread Bowls and Country Petite Loaves in the freezer. We also have a fresh supply of Sourdough Crisps (Naked,Tuscan Herb and Applewood Smoked) and several bags of the Cinnamon Raisin Maple Pecan Crisps.

Don't forget... we have all the other goodies that go with Breadness, like Raw Farm ButterLaura Ann's JamsClif Family Honey Spreads, NuttZo Keto Nut/Seed Butter and Beyond the Olive Tapenades!

Best advice: order early to ensure there'll be Breadness for your eating pleasure this weekend!
