All change (almost!) across Dorset

General Election results
  • Dorset, including BCP, has changed political colour!
  • Across the county, the formerly 'safe Conservative seats' have fallen, with only two of the incumbents (Sir Christopher Chope in Christchurch and Simon Hoare in North Dorset) returned with greatly reduced majorities.
  • Check your new representatives, by putting your postcode in to 'They Work for You'.
  • It is an easy way to introduce yourself to your new representative in Parliament. Whilst you're there, you could ask their views about Britain rejoining the European Union. Let us know if you get a reply
European Political Community
  • This European grouping is meeting at Blenheim Palace on 18th July 2024.
  • Some activists are planning to wave EU flags to greet and welcome EU leaders as they arrive, to remind them that the UK is a pro-EU nation and we'd like to still be members.
  • Are you able to join in?Let us know if you'd like further details.

Local Events

Tolpuddle Festival
  • Now the election is over, we plan to increase our campaigning for Rejoin. We are starting with a stall at this year's Tolpuddle Festival, 19th-21st July.
  • We need to staff the stall throughout the weekend, so please reply to this newsletter if you're able to join us on Saturday 20th or Sunday 21st.
National Rejoin March III
  • The NRM team are planning another London march, hopefully at the end of September.
  • We are still waiting for approval from Greater London Authority before the date can be confirmed. We hope that things will start to move, now the election is behind us.
  • Please let us know if you would be interested in joining a coach from Poole or Bournemouth, if we hire one again.
