* * * * * * * * HELP STOP THE WAR IN IRAN !! UREGNT CALL TO ACTION from INDIVISIBLE'S EZRA LEVIN
Congress's War Powers Resolution vote this week - forced by Rep. Ro Khanna and Rep. Thomas Massie, the same pair who brought you the Epstein files bill - is crucial.
Every Member of Congress, Republican or Democratic, needs to understand that this will be a defining vote - in the same way that the Iraq War vote defined a generation of politicians. We need every Democrat onboard and we need to split off some Republicans.

🔊🔊 URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED FOR LOCAL FAMILY
On Feb. 27, a local man was detained at his routine check-in in Eastern MA. He has a partner and two children who attend Bridge Street School. Both adults have active asylum cases and work permits, and both are employed, though the mother does not drive and relies on her partner for transportation.
The mother and children are devastated, anxious, and scared. They are in need of financial support to cover the income that will be lost due to the father’s absence. Phonebank to Overhaul Ice!
Thursday, March 5 at 5:30-7:30 PM ET
Note: Thursday sessions start at 5:30 PM Congress has the power right now to stop ICE's illegal and unconstitutional cruelty by refusing to appropriate funds for DHS (the Dept of Homeland Security, which houses ICE) unless specific and concrete changes are enacted to ensure that this agency - if it continues to exist - adheres to due process and the Constitution, with both agents and leaders held criminally accountable for their actions.
Join us in calling voters in strategic states to help them demand that their Senator require critical changes to ICE before giving any more money to DHS!
We'll have a full training to begin, and lots of support throughout! All are welcome and needed!
For new phonebankers, a great FAQ about phonebanking

LUCE and Neighbor to Neighbor Virtual Fundraising Event! Thurs., March 26th, 7:00 - 8:00 PM Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and MA AG Andrea Joy Campbell will be joining us. More than 5,000 people in Massachusetts have been detained by federal immigration agents. A bright light in this darkness has been the work of the LUCE hotline and rapid response network. LUCE has:
Trained 100 volunteers to operate the hotline Trained 4,000 volunteers to verify federal immigration activity and take action Trained over 1,000 people to be active bystanders Advocated for policy changes that call for an end to unjust detentions and local police collaboration with federal immigration agencies
This event will fund statewide organizing coordinators for LUCE's work, and support the work of Neighbor to Neighbor to continue the LUCE hotline.
Funds raised will keep the hotline and rapid response lifeline strong - and help us resist authoritarianism and and defend our rights.

On April 1, the ACLU is going to the Supreme Court to shut down the regime's attack on birthright citizenship. They want to show the world a massive wave of community support when they do. Please sign on to support birthright citizenship now, and the ACLU team will bring your signature with us to D.C. * * * * * * * * * *
Join the ACLU in calling on the Massachusetts House to stop the abuse of our personal information and pass the Massachusetts Consumer Data Privacy Act (H.4746). ICE is buying cellphone location data and surveillance technology allowing it to track protesters, immigrants, and Trump administration critics without warrants. There is no law protecting this sensitive information from sale on the open market. Massachusetts lawmakers can act to stop this practice. Thankfully, lawmakers are already hard at work on digital privacy legislation that would do just that. But Big Tech is fiercely lobbying to weaken the bill. We need your voice now. And please SHARE this with others, especially across the state, to reach as many members of the legislature as possible.

Guidance on ICE, TPS for Haitians and the Executive Order
|
From MA Law Reform Institute (MLRI) and Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy (MIRA).
MLRI and MIRA have created guidance to prepare immigrants and their employers for ICE interactions:
Haiti Temporary Protected Status (TPS) got a reprieve after the threat to end it on February 3, 2026. But they will try again. We also anticipate an ICE surge in Massachusetts in the near future. Please share this information with your membership and your networks so that immigrants and their employers can be as prepared as possible.

▶️ As this article notes, MA is “the only state that voted against Donald Trump in 2024, and where the governor is a Democrat, where a state agency is contracting with the 287(g) program. It’s also the only state where Democrats fully control the state government that has such an agreement.” -Urge Gov. Healey to end the state’s collaboration with ICE. ▶️ Boston Mayor, Michelle Wu, signed an order that “directs our team to use every legal avenue to confront these coercive attacks on our cities.” And a group of mayors recently met to plan multiple ways to protect our communities. Read this MASSter List report for more details.
