Rutland & Stamford Sound Business Club

The Rutland & Stamford Sound Business Club is now live! This is an exciting new venture for us, providing businesses of all sizes with a new low-cost opportunity to promote their products and services, at the same time as supporting their local community radio station. For just £10 a month (plus VAT) businesses can access a range of benefits including on air shout outs, a listing on our website and the opportunity to share posts on our social media. 5th Birthday Celebrations

On 5 March we celebrated five years of community radio across Rutland and Stamford. We are proud to have built a highly valued service, providing local people with a reliable source of local news and information. Our success would not have been possible without the support of the local community, and it was wonderful to see so many people coming out to join our birthday celebrations, whether it was as part of the community singing in Uppingham or walking through Burghley Park as part of our convoy. A special thanks to Stamford Flower Club for their lovely floral display and congratulations to the winners of our Birthday Window Dressing Competition: Pixel + Paper in Oakham and Age UK in Stamford. We thank all the shops who entered, helping to paint the towns blue and green for our 5th Birthday.

Ink to Soundwaves Competition

Tune in on the evening of Wednesday 8 April to hear the winning entries from the Ink to Sound Waves writing competition, run in collaboration with Ink & Ember, the independent bookshop and café in Stamford. A dedicated show from 7pm will feature the short stories and poems awarded first place by the judges, across four categories. We were delighted to receive over 100 entries for the competition. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for creative writing and the judges were very impressed by the standard of the entries. Throughout the summer, Rutland  & Stamford Sound will again be out and about at events. Over the coming month, look out for our gazebo in Oakham at the Rutland International CiCLE Classic (Sunday 26 April), at the Uffington Scarecrow Festival (Sunday 3 May & Monday 4 May) and at Braunston May Fayre (Monday 4 May). Do come and say hello!
