My Heartfelt Reflections from Las Vegas
Where do I even begin? My week at the Las Vegas Dance Explosion 2025 was nothing short of healing for my mind, my body, and my spirit. I soaked in dance classes, explored the Hoover Dam on Veterans Day, wandered the Strip and Fremont Street for miles, and laughed through shows—from a lively dueling piano night to the magical Wizard of Oz performance at the Sphere. I was surrounded by the best company, and for the first time in a long time, I felt myself breathe again. I didn’t realize how desperately I needed this getaway until I was in the middle of it.
This past year has been one of juggling too many responsibilities, pushing myself harder than I should, and burning the candle at both ends. Losing my father has left a hole that I’m still learning how to navigate, and some days have been heavier than others. But this trip reminded me of something so simple and so important: life is short—never stop dancing.
Talking, dancing, and connecting with so many incredible choreographers left me in awe, inspired, and excited. I needed this! I took notes on several dances that I can’t wait to bring back and share with you all in the new year. And although I managed to injure my knee (because what’s Vegas without a plot twist?), I’ll be easing into things with light, fun dances as we enter the holiday season. Classes will still be happening Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday this week—I wouldn’t miss that time with you for anything.
To those who stepped in to help while I was sick last week, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Getting sick right before leaving Las Vegas and then being down for a whole week afterward was not my idea of rest, LOL—but your support meant the world to me.
And now… for what I’m most thankful for...
This year has tested me in ways I never expected. Some weeks I felt strong and grounded, while others left me feeling completely out of sync. There were days I didn’t feel ready to teach, days when my heart was heavy or my energy was low—but the moment I walked into class and saw you all smiling, dancing, laughing, and simply enjoying the moment, something inside me lifted. You all brought me back to myself every single time.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for your love, your presence, your energy, and your faith in me.
I truly don’t know what I would have done without this community.
I am so grateful for each and every one of you, and I’m looking forward to spending the holidays together—dancing, laughing, healing, and creating new memories. Many beautiful dances are coming your way.
Keep those boots a movin’! ❤️
