The other day it dawned on me that since some folks love to dip their sourdough bread in EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and BV (balsamic vinegar), why not create some ensembles that lend themselves to that indulgence? Introducing the Breadness Constellation Collection: The Big Dipper Deluxe (shown above), The Big Dipper, The Little Dipper and The Petite Dipper!

The Big Dipper Deluxe comes with a fresh-cured loaf of our signature Organic Artisan Sourdough, choice of 2 tall bottles of Ojai Olive Oil Company's Organic EVOO (Signature and Tuscan Herb Infusion shown), choice of 2 bottles of Ritrovo Selections BV (Organic Apple and Organic Turmeric shown) and 2 EVOO/BV Porcelain Dipping Bowls. This ensemble will last well beyond Mother's Day (and Father's Day, too...).

The Big Dipper (above) comes with a fresh-cured loaf of our signature Organic Artisan Sourdough, choice of 1 tall bottle of Ojai Olive Oil Company's Organic EVOO (Tuscan Herb Infusion shown), choice of 1 bottle of Ritrovo Selections BV (Organic Aceti shown) and 1 EVOO/BV Porcelain Dipping Bowl.

The Little Dipper (above) comes with a fresh-cured loaf of our signature Organic Artisan Sourdough, choice of 1 250ml bottle of Ojai Olive Oil Company's Organic EVOO (Ojai Pixie Infused shown), choice of 1 bottle of Ojai Olive Oil Company's BV (Traditional shown) and 1 EVOO/BV Porcelain Dipping Bowl.

The Petite Dipper (above) comes with a fresh-cured Petite Loaf of our signature Organic Artisan Sourdough and a choice of 1 or more shots (1 ounce each) of any of the fresh EVOOs from around the world that we have in our EVOO Bar on the wall at the end of the dough bench (shot glass and dipping bowl shown are used for illustrative purposes only; your selected EVOO is poured and sealed in a travel container).

It's taken a while but we've found a new team member, Alyssa, to work with Cyndie and myself at the front counter. Alyssa's been shadowing us for about a week now and this weekend she'll be all-in with helping our customers with their first (or 80th) Breadness experience! Just found out that Small Business Week officially begins this Sunday and continues through next Saturday. Here's your chance to show some love for small businesses in our community. We're fortunate to have Geeky Teas and Games just west of us and Tansy Home Decor just east of us; 2 eclectic boutique type shops, kinda like Random Acts of Breadness! And as far as we're concerned, Small Business Week begins today and ends a week from Sunday!

Last week we sold out of our Organic Artisan Cinnamon Raisin Maple Pecan Sourdough so we're making more (36). We also sold out of our Traditional Country Loaves so order ahead on line if you can. That way, your loaf/loaves will be reserved for you for your pickup date. Please indicate if you would like your loaf/loaves sliced in the message box during checkout.

Mother's Day is coming so now's the time to think of what Breadness Gift Mom might fancy for that special day (use the beginning part of this letter as a starting point). Of course, you can always give her one of our Gift Cards and let her go on a shopping spree at the bakery! Besides, we'd LOVE to meet your mom...

Random Acts of Breadness is located at 2214 West Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank (2-1/2 blocks east of Buena Vista on the south side of the street). Come to the bakery and sample our artisan wares, or order on line for bakery pickup, or have Breadness delivered or shipped to your door. You may also order by phone at 818-562-7303 and pay when you come pick it up. We're open Friday & Saturday 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Note: If you (or someone you wish to gift) live within 120 miles of Los Angeles, we can ship on Thursday (via UPS Ground) and in most cases your Breadness Box will arrive on Friday (Saturday at the latest). Place your order before Thursday at noon here.
