Greetings from INZBC!

We have a few important and exciting announcements to share with you in this newsletter.

After a few years of disruption due to COVID, we are finally able to resume taking a business delegation from New Zealand to India. The aim of this delegation is to support and promote India-NZ trade ties. More details and tentative schedule for the visit can be found below.

We are happy to welcome a new strategic partner, University of Auckland. They will be supporting INZBC and its activities as knowledge partners. 

INZBC will be organising a discussion on IT Sector: Emerging Trends, Post COVID, with prominent speakers from HCL, BNZ and NZTech. More details will be released soon, but you may register your interest to attend the same below.

INZBC Delegation to India | 19 - 21 Sep 2022
The India New Zealand Business Council is taking a business delegation to India with the aim on promoting our trade ties, after the gap of COVID. 
One of the main stops will be attending the global conference of FICCI LEADS [20-21 Sep]. Details of the FICCI conference is given below. 

More meetings are being added to make the visit worthwhile for all the business delegates. This delegation will help you collaborate with new partners, and investors in India.

Fire side chat, by the INZBC Christchurch chapter, showcases India's potential for young kiwi entrepreneurs
With Covid numbers going down and international borders reopening, this is the best time to start looking at the Indian market for expansion and scaling up Kiwi businesses. This was the topic of an intimate “Fire Side Chat” with  Mr. David Pine, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to India and Bangladesh, and Ambassador designate to Nepal. 
The India New Zealand Business Council (INZBC), Christchurch chapter hosted the session at the Ara Institute of Canterbury’s City campus on July 12.

University of Auckland - 2022
India Business Case SDG Team Competition
The University of Auckland is delighted to announce the launch of the 2022 India Business Case SDG Team Competition. The business case team competition is based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is a national-level, multidisciplinary intercollegiate team competition open to all undergraduate students in India who are currently enrolled in their pre-final or final year of their bachelor's degree. Students from all majors and faculties are welcome to participate and showcase their innovative and creative ideas around tackling some of the SDGs.
The final submission entry date for the SDG competition is Sunday 31st July at 11.59pm IST.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation from the University of Auckland. The top three teams will receive a winners plaque, which will be sent to their college or university. Each member of the top three teams will also be awarded a spot in the University of Auckland’s virtual micro internship programme with a business based in New Zealand.

For the winning team (first place), each member will receive a NZ$5,500 grant towards a programme of study at the University of Auckland.

The first batch of joint research projects between New Zealand universities and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) was announced at an event hosted by IIT Delhi and Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao (ENZ) in New Delhi on 5 July 2022.

In a global landscape marred by fears of recession and war, the Indian economy shows resilience, said the RBI. 

Nomura slashes India 2023 GDP forecast to 4.7% as it expects a growth slowdown
The first batch of joint research As worries of recession pick up across the world in an inflationary environment, analysts at Nomura have cut India's 2023 growth forecast to 4.7% from 5.4% earlier as it expects growth to slow down over the next year. For FY23, they see GDP growth at 7.0% and at 5.5% for FY24.
