Opening Reception Saturday, December 3, 6-9PM
Forest City Gallery is pleased to announce our Annual Members' Show and Sale Fundraiser. The Members’ Show & Sale is a great way for artists in the community to connect and develop new audiences, while offering an entry point into the collection of unique artworks by artists in throughout London and region. It’s also FCG’s longest-running annual exhibition and serves as an important fundraising event for the upcoming programming year.

This year artists may submit up to three works! Artists can submit one work for exhibition at a maximum size of 48” x 36” and priced between $50-$500. Artists can also submit two additional works at a maximum size of 36” x 24”, on the condition that these artwork’s selling price is $100 - $150. All artworks must be ready to hang or display. For 3D artists, please note that FCG has a limited number of plinths, so alternate plans for presentation may need to be arranged with the gallery.

This year's Members' Show and Sale will be our first ever exhibition at 1025 Elias Street, so whether you're a participating artist or looking for new works to purchase, we look forward to welcoming you into our new space!

All of the proceeds from the Members' Show and Sale go directly toward FCG's operations, providing support for the exhibition of contemporary art and promoting dialogue amongst local, regional, and international arts communities.

All participants must be members in good standing. Purchase or renew your membership here. Not sure if your membership has lapsed? Get in touch with our director at [email protected]

Chains & Crowns
Stéphane Alexis
October 22 - November 26, 2022

Two weeks left to view Chains & Crowns by Stéphane Alexis in our main gallery!

Chains & Crowns explores afro hairstyles and their impact on culture from a socio-historical standpoint. As the lineage of these hairstyles is followed, we find  opportunities to understand members of the culture not only from a technical standpoint, speaking on structure, maintenance, and styling, but the history of the people and persons.

Stéphane Alexis is a second generation Caribbean-Canadian artist based in Ottawa. His work stems from personal experiences, demographics, and sub demographics to which he belongs. His focus is both on conceptual design and aesthetic quality. He brings attention, and transparency to people and communities that are tucked away due to their hardships. These qualities help bridge insight on issues and circumstances facing these communities both locally and globally through the subject matter.
