Dear Shooting Sport Family,

September has been an opportunity for our athletes to make a statement before the respective ISSF World Championships over the next two months. We have seen some incredible performances in 2025 and it sets up an exciting conclusion in Greece and Egypt, and the ISSF World Cup Final in Doha.

The ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol in Ningbo was a spectacular occasion and I thank our Chinese colleagues for organising a great event. Concluding my month at the Arab Shooting Championship in Tangier, I saw a perfect example of regional competition thriving, and congratulate our Moroccan friends on their work.

Moving into October, I wish the best of luck to all competing at the ISSF World Championship Shotgun in Athens. I look forward to congratulating you all.

WORLD RECORDS FALL AT NINGBO ISSF WORLD CUP

The fourth and final leg of the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol saw incredible performances in Ningbo, with five new world records set.

Italy's Danilo Sollazzo and China's Peng Xinlu set new world records in the men's and women's air rifle finals. Peng would also set a junior world record in the process and would break the mixed team world and world junior record with Sheng Lihao.

HU BECOMES FIRST-EVER TO WIN ALL FOUR ISSF WORLD CUPS

The unbeatable Hu Kai made history in Ningbo, as he won his fourth ISSF World Cup of the season - becoming the first athlete to win all four ISSF World Cup legs in a season.

He was joined in a Chinese one-two on the podium by You Changjie, who took silver on his debut at the age of 32.

POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT REPORTED IN JAPAN BY ISSF SECRETARY GENERAL

ISSF Secretary General Alessandro Nicotra di San Giacomo saw encouraging signs for the future of shooting sport on his visit to Japan.

Overseeing training sessions and holding discussions with major figures in Japan, the Secretary General also met with Asian Shooting Confederation Secretary General H.E. Eng. Duaij Al Otaibi to discuss preparations for the 2026 Asian Games.

DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES DISCUSSED WITH CHINESE ACADEMY

ISSF President Luciano Rossi met with the Chinese Shooting Association President Liang Chun and members of the China Shooting College to discuss future cooperation.

The President was also thanked by CSA President Liang for his leadership and his support of Chinese events.

ATHLETES ENCOURAGED TO SIGN UP FOR MEDIA TRAINING WEBINAR

The ISSF Media Team is to conduct its first webinar dedicated to media training for athletes on October 29, online.

Athletes will learn how to get the most out of social media, create a brand around themselves, and how to interview effectively.

MARKETING TRAINING TO BE ROLLED OUT WITH LOCAL ORGANISERS

To ensure sponsors, local organisers and the ISSF remain cohesive at ISSF-sanctioned events, the Marketing Team is holding training sessions with future hosts in October.

These new guidelines created by the team will ensure all stakeholders have a coordinated image and allow international and local sponsors to exist together harmoniously.

DOZENS QUALIFY AS ISSF ACADEMY B COURSE CONCLUDES IN FINLAND

A total of 52 participants from 24 countries made the trip to the Kisakallio Institute in Lohja, Finland, to conclude their B-level coaching courses.

The ISSF Academy inaugural A-level course is also now underway, due to finish in Doha in December during the ISSF World Cup Final.

NISSINEN HIGHLIGHTS GENDER EQUALITY IN ISSF ACADEMY

ISSF Academy CEO Karoliina Nissinen has highlighted how the institution has been beneficial to the ISSF's goals towards improved gender equality.

In an interview with the ISSF media team, she stresses the importance of coaching courses and the WISE network as tools for better representation.
